"Mein Herr"
Written by John Kander and Fred Ebb
Sung by Liza Minnelli

Bob Fosse Choreographed and Directed Liza Minnelli Performing Mein Herr in "Cabaret" before her arthritis, 3 hip replacements and a recent knee replacement.

Dancers have a very poor shelf life. Gwen Verdon could not keep her head steady for decades. The world's best dancers always wind up crippled.

Madonna paid homage to this number, Dancing with a Chair, for her "Confessions on a Dance Floor" tour which was her tribute to the stars of the 70s. Fosse stole it from Marlene Dietrich. Nothing is new. The smart ones only steal from the best.

Lady Gaga could only HOPE AND WISH to have the talent the lint has in Liza's pockets. Blasphemy.

Still, Liza is a Gaga fan and also said that she thinks she is talented and that she loves her! She even attended one of the Monster Balls at Madison Square Garden and visited Gaga backstage before the show. Plus, Gaga would never dare to put herself on the same level as Liza, she's too modest and full of awe and admiration for her! Liza is a legend and Gaga is well on the way to become one I think. I love both! ♥

The funny thing about female stars is that people always think you can only have a set number of them. No one questions there being Rolling Stones AND the Beatles, Pearl Jam AND Nirvana, Sex Pistols AND the Clash. So too, can there be Lady Gaga and Liza Minelli. And millions of other talented ladies. Let 'em all in.

Brilliant, the gawky grace, the clown-like yet irresistible charm, this over the top performance slays me every time!

I read somewhere that Streisand rejected this role. It is probably the best musical ever made and hard to imagine the Brooklyn Jewish thing working here. Still, would have been interesting to see a test, or something.

Not at all. It's just that you have very low standards when it comes to beauty.

That's right for this video because Liza was in her prime here. Now she is a croaky old heck who hasn'tpreserved her vocals or her talent other than Bassey or Streisand.

Why so violent? Lady Gaga is a wonderful artist and she loves Liza.
