I was told this was a rare appearance to see at Daly City BART. Two 4 car trains are coupling up to become an 8 car train for the rush hour. The train is coming from Dublin/Pleasanton.

Usually breaking of this is done only in the yard. Richmond, Millbrae, and possibly Pittsburg Bay Point trains recombine in the yard. However, Fremont and sometimes Pittsburg Bay Point trains have a set coming from different yards passing by stations and recombining to become a longer train

  • @phsycopiano Think those are the trains that are being used to break them apart and they stick them back in for the morning or evening commute. However, I was told when they break the trains, there's the air pressure that releases the cup (bottom part of the train) and the needle also gets released and they close the doors getting shorter train lengths.

  • What are those needle things sticking out?
