Your right, no one gives a shit about it. Or the armenian genocide, the tens of millions killed under communist regimes, the 4 million citizens that died in vietnam, they also dont give a shit about the thousands of iraqi civilians that died either. but Mention the holocaust and you have people in emotional meltdown, its bizzare.

i think the reason the holocaust gets so much attention is because it was "civilized" gentile white men who were responsible, murdering other "civilized" developed peoples. but in darfur its undeveloped people killing other undeveloped people, also they have foreign customs that most of us would view as barbaric.

Concerning Darfur, I realize that I, as a person, can do very little but offer my opinion on the situation. I have very little power, after all.

I *want* to be at X but I'm at Y. In order to command the respect of others, I have to be at X...but unfortunately I'm at Y. So, I grin and bear it. I don't forget it, but I have to be the best I can be, to get to X.

Selfish, yes. For example, what good are donations? You feel altruistic & you go about your day...but you have *no* idea where it goes.
