This is an educational video of "how" titles are bestowed in the Samoan culture and the intimate role of the "Tulafale" or "Orator" in the process. This example is a bestowal of the title "Faafotutupu Maualaivao" to my (Bob Ainuu Afamasaga) younger brother, Vaipou Afamasaga by the late, His Highness Malietoa Tanumafili II and his village of Malie. This is the 2 segment of a series of 8 Video clips [1 hr plus minutes]. Many of us Samoans who lived overseas have never witness these traditions. Appreciate Nuu Devoe for recording this. Thanks.
In this ceremony is my relative Tupai....our side inTuanai (Saena)...and the commentator who made an observation, Tofa ia Seuamuli is also an esteemed orator of the district of Matautu Savaii. A sasi se upu lafo atu i nuu le aiga...maguia laasaga aemaise foi le aiga ma le nofo. Soifua
