In 1999, Archpriest Fr. Sarkis Petoyan was assigned pastor of St. John Armenian Apostolic Church of San Francisco. Since that time, he and his wife, Yeretsgeen Talin Petoyan have annually led a group of pilgrims to Armenia with the intent of spiritually enriching the lives of the local population. Under the auspices of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Fr. Sarkis has raised over $350,000 during the ten years of pilgrimages in support of various charitable projects in Armenia. This documentary will give you a firsthand look at the struggles and successes of a country that is growing and adapting to their newly adopted democracy. The powerful imagery will demonstrate how an ancient people are keeping alive the beauty and tradition of their rich and ancient culture, which has endured persecution and the test of time.
