The world marked the day of the African child yesterday with many celebrating the achievements and gains made on appreciating and protecting African children, most of whom are from disadvantaged backgrounds. But here in Kenya, the celebrations took place against the backdrop of less than impressive statistics, where over 20,000 children estimated to be out in the streets. Our reporter Michael Njenga spent sometime in the streets of Nairobi and brings us a story of children looking forward to leaving the streets.

It's sad that they can access jet fuel with the current oil prices but have no access to bread, milk, clean water or veggies. Simple foods that will sustain a healthy adult at a fraction of the cost of "ndom", "jetty" or "ka-roster"

shouldn't a woman be director of this 'children epidermic'? ...nothing against the gentleman here....but it makes social sense to have a gender aligned with the needs of these children.
these kids don't fall off trees like mangoes....a man is responsible...search and link the two..then enforce the link by law!
