Rep. Ed Markey, Ranking Member of the House Natural Resources Committee, speaks on the House floor. He blasts the GOP for refusing to allow a vote on his Renewable Electricity Standard legislation. The RES pasted the House during the last two sessions of Congress with bi-partisan support (32 Republican votes). Markey says the GOP leadership are afraid their rank and file members might vote for the RES and have issued a "gag order" on the renewable debate.

The Republican led Congress has voted more than 100 times to help big oil companies. But have not had a single vote to help clean energy.

40 thousand jobs in wind energy are at risk if the GOP does not extend production tax credit for wind. Markey contrasts the differences between President Obama's American "All of the Above" energy plan with the GOPs "Oil Above All" agenda. Markey called the GOP bill The Big Oil Dream Act.
