Why did Charles Colson, Bill Bright, Pat Roberson, J. I. Packer, Max Lucado, T. M. Moore, Timothy George, and others sign the document Evangelicals and Catholics Together in 1997?

Questions for Catholics are:

What was the first message preached by Peter that resulted in the conversion of 3000 orthodox Jews in Acts 2 and another 5000 in Acts 4?

If the Eucharest teaching was introduced in Acts why weren't the Apostles charged by the rulers for breaking an OT law and what were they charged with?

(Leviticus 7:27 Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
Leviticus 17:10,11 And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people. For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
Leviticus 17:14 For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.) What were the apostles arrested for?

Since many left Jesus in John 6:66 because of John 6:54, why wasn't there a similar occurrance in Acts 2 and Acts 4 and the rest of the book of Acts?

These were instructions given to the converted Gentiles. Why wasn't the Euchariest doctrine included in them?
Acts 15:20,29 But that we write unto them [converted Gentiles], that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.

  • THE POWER of HOLY SPIRITS wants you to JOIN christian catholic church, because, ANTICHRIST is an ALLIED ANTICATHOLIC FORCES against VATICAN.

  • @trilobright Jesus did not build His church on a man- a complete study of Scripture and an understanding of the Lord as Messiah is at complete antithesis to this as is the giving of so called co-redemptrix powers to Mary- it just did nt happen. Iys Jesus alone and the Word fo God in Him. Peter denied Jesus shortly after He said that thus immediately showing his weakness as all disciples He was not any better than the others. We all need the saviour- Jesus said He would build His church- not man

  • @awaitthegroom

"You are a rock Peter, and upon this rock I shall build My church."

Fundies try like hell to fudge that, but in the end you can't say that Genesis 1 is to be taken completely at face value, but when it comes to St Matthew 16:18 all of a sudden you need to consider historical context, the genre of storytelling employed by the Evangelist, the connotation of the original Greek, etc, etc...

  • @IrishEddieOHara you fight against God himself. Have you ever read the Bible yourself? If all you have is what the Roman Catholic church has taught you, do you put your trust in Rome instead of God? Do you not know the help of the Holy Spirit to help you understand what you read? The Bible warns us against "the traditions of men" and how they will lead many astray. I only ask that you would read the Bible yourself and pray that the "Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth". God bless you.

  • @AtheistdotEDU Its not how he says it its what he says-The Poison of the emerging church is an excellent video he speaks on- he can be slow but his words are godly and we need to hear it- thats the most important thing

  • The church was not begun with Peter- the context Jesus spoke of was Peters statement of His being the Messiah- not on Peter. It was the Lords brother James that lead the first church. The reason the men listed have erred is because they have allowed other priorities to led them not the Word alone and in the Holy Spirit- anyone who knows the Bible could not be Catholic- they do not agree!!

  • Sunday is mentioned only 8 times in the New Testament, and they all treat that day as only a common day. The Sabbath is one of the Ten Commandments. It was the papacy that changed the day with no scriptural authority. The papacy boasts that the change was her work, and claims it as the mark of her authority. Most protestant churches freely admit that there is no scriptural justification for observing Sunday as the Sabbath. In Revelation, Satan's last battle is against those who the commandments.

  • @BereanBeacon Paul once met with the brethren at Troas (Acts 20). Many were with him, and they met late at night ("there were many lights in the upper chamber"). Many accompanied Paul on his journey into Asia on this occasion. While Paul was walking across the peninsula (nineteen and one half miles) to Assos ("for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot"), his companions were sailing by ship. The context shows that none of them regarded Sunday as anything more than an ordinary day.

  • "And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath." Acts 13:42.

NOTE: This was as late as 45 A.D. The Jews had all left the meeting, and as Paul was the minister to the Gentiles, there was nothing to deter the apostle from announcing a meeting for them on the following day, Sunday, if that was to be the Christian Sabbath. But nothing to this effect is said in the text or its connection.

  • I appreciate the Catholic Church keeping a little bit of the Dark Ages alive for us today. Other than that it is a psychological swamp.
