@AdamYJ Exactly. There was always something about the monsters. You never got the feeling they were evil like the monsters nowadays. There were more like people with bad problems. Frankenstein's monster for example was more like a kid trying to find where he belonged in the world, and in doing so, he fell victim to the "friendship" of evil men whether it be Dr. Pretorious or Ygor

@MrWesdotcom The thing about the old monster flicks is that the monsters had pathos. There was always something about them that made you either sympathize with them or drawn to them. Dracula offers the temptation of eternal life. Frankenstein's monster is a perpetual outsider. The Wolf Man is a man cursed by an incurable problem. And the Mummy is a man who couldn't get over a lost love.

Karloff was great as the Monster, and he was the frist to play the Monster. There is a small Production company in Binghamton NY that I here has pland to make a film that will bring back the old classic Monster's. I here that they are calling it Tales from Dracula's Crypt. Great trailer... interesting that the music in this one is from Bride of Frankenstein; ''Son' has a great music score as well; this might be my favorite of the 3 Karloff 'Frankenstein's. After this, they just weren't as good, and no actor playing the Monster could even touch Karloff.
