  • feature avoidance was not turned on during programming or "program delete" was shut off at the controller. thats why the head was moving up and down. really not a big deal a laser costs about .80 cents/hour to run on shop air - the operators wage.

  • @Vallecaucanisimo well you are right it was not okay and iam sorry about that

  • @Carnatics However, you do bring a good point. It does look odd that the head goes up and down so often. The only thing I can possibly think of is to protect the head at the very beginning of the cut. Sparks fly out and they might be trying to avoid that.

  • @Carnatics So do you work for TRUMPF? I work for BLM group in the laser cutting business as well. I am a Field Services Tech. You should know that not all the applications are the same. Maybe they determined that it was best to do it this way for this particular project. It is very disrespectful when you discredit people without knowing the details and circumstances that made it all happen.

  • @Vallecaucanisimo and why do you think "they" are smarter ?

making me a bad person does not make "them" better persons or smarter.....

guess what iam working and where i do that...

  • @Vallecaucanisimo

google trumpf laser from germany and search videos from them....you will see that they do not use the up and down in the programing

and by the way a light beam does not care where it starts =)

by the way it was not hateful....but when u present a machine you should do it the right way....maybe a costumer watches it...

    watch?v=pjUa3x31DK8&feature=related

  • @Carnatics This is not a school project. This is an industrial laser system. This baby cuts steel and it's very good at it. Not sure why your comment is so hateful, but it looks that you have no idea what you are talking about. The cutting head goes up and down because many engineers way smarter than you figured out that is the best way to start the cut.

  • who wrote that program ?

this is a flat plate so why the f**k you move the laser up and down for every single hole ?

to much time or to much money ?

  • I Want One!!!

  • O.O
