@gert83 By the way, BJ Mather started out in amateur union. So, incidentally, did Keith Senior. I should know - I played against him. I well remember being hit by (what felt like) a truck, then gently asked to "give me that fookin' ball you fookin' coont"...... He had hair in those days but still looked like he ate a diet of house bricks. And people on the sidelines saying he was about to sign for the eagles. All good fun.......

@saintbowen79 There's some talent in league, no doubt. Tomkins reminds me of Bath full back Abendanon - small but fast, and also tough for his size. The trouble is that M Johnson likes his big units who bang up the middle looking for contact (Tindall, Hape, Matt Bananaman). That's not Tomkins, a team like Wales would love him, but he's not Welsh! He's also League born and bred, so wouldn't surprise me if he stays there. Would like to see him play union though, I think he'd be good.

@gert83 jim fallon...i havent heard that name in a while takes me back to being a kid lol, he was more succesful than gallagher was it (the nz international who switched codes and played full back for leeds, very badly may i add) vaiakolo's best is behind him, he was awesome at first untill we showed all the other teams his weakness....bombs, his head went after that, started shaking under the high ball lol, hape i never really rated, although a lot of others in league thought he was class.

@saintbowen79 no i don't think "my game" is full of league sell outs, there's a few, some more succesful than others. The best in england apart from ashton is stephen myler, and unlike the overrated hape and vainikolo he's not been capped. League players like alan tait, john devereux, jonathan davies, alan bateman, scott gibs, tiugamala, botica, jim fallon, even billy boston all came from union. As for Eastmond, he's got talent, who knows if he can apply it to union, we'll see.

@gert83 i hope he dosent i hope he stays at wigan, and they are my teams biggest rivals so i must really not like rugby union for me to say that, bj mather started in union??? think you better check your facts his first pro rugby team (of any code was wigan) and ashton is just another wigan sellout, but that didnt suprise me cos your game is full of them, i do wish eastmond well, and i hope he does well for england union, just to prove a league background is better (for a back at least).
-
@saintbowen79 Yeah he's called Chris Ashton you bell end. Mather started in Union and played for England once in '99 and was a joke. Farrell should never have been capped for England (his son will play one day mind) and Shontayne Hape is gash. I hope Eastmond does well. I also like Sam Tomkins - not big but skillful. I hope he comes over.

Its such a shame he is moving to union we need talent like his in our game. Too many overseas players in our game thats why we are rubbish when it comes to playing for our country not many english players to choose from
-
he is moving to bath ( union ) at the end of the year.
'Better'. Interesting word. As is 'perspective'.....
