  • Do you actually believe that the government would ever "return the money to the American People". sigh IT'S A SCAM! We as Americans own GM now. Are we gonna get dividend checks? Yeah right. Wake up. The only way the Government will ever "return the money" is if it DOWNSIZES to a point where income tax is not needed. We pay federal taxes enough other ways. (Federal Gas, FCC, Tobacco (huge), Energy,Excise, Line Fee, Univeral Fee, Medicare, Social Security (Wont be there when we retire) etc .

  • I agree. Develope better filtering systems for coal generated electricity plants. More nuclear plants on the table (Cold fusion would be the ultimate power source). I am however against using our food (corn) as an energy source. It drives up the price of so many things using it for ethanol. Hemp or switchgrass are more viable sources for ethanol. Another very interesting renewable source is BioChar. Provides an energy source and can be used to replenish soil. And quit the fear mongering.

  • I would LOVE to see wind power, sun power, and tide power... but as SECONDARY sources of energy. I think Natural Gas, Oil, and Coal are our workhorses. Ethanol (from sugarcane like Brazil, or switch grass that grows naturally here in North America) would be a great renewable fuel for our houses. Carbon Sequestration (or something like that) allows us to capture carbon and use it to invigorate old oil fields, making them last longer. and i didn't even mention nuclear power...

  • consensus among climate scientists? is that why the rest of the world is faltering on 'climate change' legislation?

the media has conservative agendas? BWUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

you're not dumb, but I'd have to say that ignorant might describe you. the daily show? what a reputable news source. conservative agenda? like sucking up to Obama? that's extremely conservative, let me tell ya. /sarcasm.

  • And until we find a new viable, renewable energy source (cold fusion comes to mind--figure it out scientist) that is economically and environmentally efficient it does us no good to economically destroy what is left of our country with these POLITICALLY motivated scam tax ideas. Create a US lottery say (100 billion dollars)to the first company that can create a cold fusion reactor or other source that produces clean energy and can be gridded out like a standard utility at a cost that is neglible

  • Even if we were all dead the naturally emmitted (Oceans, forest decay, volcanoes, etc) CO2 emissions would and will continue at a proportion that dwarfs what man creates. I do agree with we should secure our oil resources (war free), recycle, renew and replant forest. Find an inexpensive way to remove oil from the shale and sands (the supply of oil there alone eclipses Saudi Arabias oil reserves.

  • The main news channels ignore it. So I have no idea what you are referring to. The media is ignorant and they don't dare mention it because of right-wing ownership and conservative agendas of most mainstream media.

Yes, there is a consensus among climate scientists, and has been for 15 years so you need to check your facts before making claims. The consensus is overwhelmingly in favor of anthropogenic global heating. Watch Steven Chu in the Daily Show from last night too.

  • you're arguing right now. Enron would have loved it? that's one reason to NOT love it. they're out of business due to greed.

I think you don't argue with people with opposing view points because you a. don't do your own research and the arguments they show on cnn are easily defeated, b. you're afraid of learning what really goes on, c. you're just trying to squelch questioning attitudes so that we do the CORRECT thing, not what's popular at the time.

  • and you bought the EPA line 'hook, line and sinker'??? are you really that naive that you hear something, it sounds good, and without research, you believe it? the EPA's line was just part of the bigger scheme here at hand to push the agenda.

we can not END emissions of CO2 until we are dead (so stop breathing if that's your goal because last time i checked, you and all of us exhale carbon dioxide). what good is this bill for the US when our jobs will go to countries without this bill?

  • I think if CO2 levels are 'man-made' it's in the method of deforestation, more than 'oooh, terrible energy is causing global warming'. cement holds heat and irradiates it when it's not being heated (i'm sure this raises temperatures, too).

my 'energy' plan would be: drill for our OWN oil, plant more trees, conserve because it's the right thing to do, recycle because it is the right thing to do (no fear-mongering, just doing it because it's the right thing to do). close the Dept of Energy.
