Facs 2930-Phase 2: "Technical Difficulties"

Average Joe sits down for afternoon of Television.
Sadly, today the networks are having a few technical difficulties.
Joe is no longer in control of what content he views.
However like many of us; Joe decides to watch content he cares little for
instead of just turning the television off.

2009 Facs 2930 - Phase 2 Video Project:
Image / Video using Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Photoshop using the internet as a giant warehouse of materials to be plundered and détourned (Situationist strategies), some legal, some less legal (address the legal, political ramifications directly in the work). Appropriation and recontextualization. Contextualize the video with language + edits, resituate it within the online streaming video environment (YouTube, google video etc.), critiquing it in the process from political, ethical perspectives (image oversaturation/desensitization, leveling out of subject matter (the tragic and the anodyne placed on the same level etc.), reality TV intersections, surveillance/panoptic/telepresent conceptions etc.
