Check out my interview with Closure In Moscow at Warped Tour 2010

Closure In Moscow is a progressive rock band from Australia. The band is best known for their energetic and often bizarre concerts, as well as their touring stints with established acts like Coheed and Cambria, Scary Kids Scaring Kids and Saosin. The band released their debut album First Temple in May 2009.

The band itself was formed in 2006, upon which they began to write and record music. Their big break came a year later when the band was invited to share the stage with Saosin at a show in Australia. The performance drew the attention of fans and music listeners worldwide, eventually earning Closure In Moscow a small feature in Alternative Press Magazine.

Soon after Closure In Moscow signed to Taperjean Records, leading to solid radio play and exposure both in Australia and overseas. Despite this, the band members had to sacrifice a lot to get their debut album recorded, with members selling their cars, quitting jobs and going through financial burden to have American music producer and engineer Kris Crummett work on their album.

All of the hard work paid off however when the band released their debut EP The Penance and The Patience, which debuted at #13 on the Australian Independent Record chart. In support of the new album, Closure In Moscow did multiple headlining tours in Australia before making the jump to the United States.

In 2009 Closure In Moscow moved stateside to record their debut full length First Temple, again with producer Kris Crummett. The album outperformed their EP and earned the band a spot on the Alternative Press list of "100 Bands You Need To Know in 2009." Later that year the band was also feaured at the South by Southwest Tour.

Today Closure In Moscow is still hard at work promoting their debut album First Temple. With fresh supporting stints with The Audition and The Higher, as well as taking a right of passage in the alternative music scene by playing the entire 2010 Van's Warped Tour, Closure In Moscow looks to emerge from the list of "100 Bands You Need To Know" to become a band you do know.
