Put the pedal to the ... wood? Located on the tip of the historic Cedar Point Peninsula, Mean Streak is a wooden roller coaster that beckons riders from all around the park. Built in 1991, this wooden forest of hills and thrills features a stunning 161-foot-tall first hill, a blazing top speed of 65 mph and more than 5,400 feet of hair-raising excitement.

Made from 1.7 million board feet of treated Southern yellow pine, Mean Streak is still one of the tallest and fastest wooden roller coasters in the universe. Mean Streak gave 814,750 guests a ride they will never forget in 2006. In 16 years, more than 19 million guests have ridden the Mean Streak. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to ride.

  • I like this one, I just don`t like that it hurts so much.

  • Best coaster in the park. Couldn't stop laughing my ass off the whole time because it felt like I was in a bar fight. Smooth steel coasters are bland and boring. This ride is different every time.

  • i lovee thiss coasterr itss fun as helll

  • Been on rougher. Ride Zeus at Mt. Olympus in the back and tell me to my face this is still worse.

  • people give this ride alot of crap but i rode it front seat and found out that its the best wooden roller coaster that i have ever been on ...well second best the beast is awesomer

  • I always associated this as a mild "Texas Giant" (Six Flags over Texas) before the Giant was changed into a "hybrid coaster" this last year.

  • This thing is a monster.

    A legit monster.

  • Haha! The rattler was taller when it opened putting Mean Streak in to 2nd place. And now the Rattler is even taller now.

  • They have added trim brakes at the top of the first hill to slow the train down as it goes over the first hill. Makes slower but smoother in the long run.

  • 0:08 you can hear the train because it is right next to the mean streak
