Bulembu is a town in Swaziland, Africa with the heart and vision. Abandoned by the mining industry in 2001, the 10,000 residents soon deserted the town in search of employment. At the same time, the country continues to be ravaged by the highest HIV/AIDS infection rate in the world (38%) and the resulting orphan crisis.
In 2006, a team of entrepreneurs and social developers purchased the abandoned town with a vision to restore Bulembu to a vibrant, self-sustaining community by the year 2020. This vision for sustainability includes fostering the development of a new generation of emerging leaders through orphan care, education, health services and commerce.
