*Oh my god!* My friend Selena exclaimed as I reached our locker, crutches and all. *What happened?* Why do people continue to ask that question? As if they can't see that I sprained my ankle. *Are you ok?*
*Selena, I sprained my ankle. I am fine. And can you please not ask me that again?* Irritation spiked up. It could be because I haven't taken my happy pills.
*Did one of those bimbos do that to you?* She knew them so well. *Who was it?* She asked in a heap of anger.
*Queen Bitch herself. But whatever.* I smiled, thinking back on the trip. *As bad as this was, the days prior to it were amazing.*
Selena frowned in confusion. As she was about to begin an interrogation, *Hey, how's the ankle?* Rewording the question still made it annoying. Sam's recognition had taken me by surprise. Since when does he say hi? He smiled at my glare and raised his hands up. *Just checking.*
Selena's eyes followed after him and then back to me with even more confusion written. The invisibles getting seen by a jock was probably as bizarre to her as monkeys talking. *Ok, what was that ab...*
*Sup, bebe.* Brad came from behind, wrapping his arm over my shoulder. *How's it hanging?* He laughed, *Get it? How's it "Hanging"?* He laughed again. *Since you're foot is like this.* He mimicked my standing and I remained motionless. *Don't get your tighty's in a bunch. I'm just aksing.* He walked forward and then turned back to me with a boyish grin. *Can I get one of your happy pills?*
*NO!* I exclaimed.
*Come on! Just one.* I shook my head. *Half?*
*Brad, get the hell away from me!*
He chuckled, reaching to me and hugging me carefully. *I'll see you at lunch, smokey.* I nodded. I have a feeling that his Mrs. Smokey the Bear nickname isn't going anywhere.
Selena's eyes bore into mine once I turned to face her. The greeting from two of the school's popular jocks was a little too much for her. I still hadn't called her and spoken to her about any of it. This was all so surprising that they are talking to me. As it is for me. I never thought that they would actually acknowledge me in public just because I was dating Joe.
Selena inched from the lockers. *Ok. Care to expla...*
*Are you ok?* His sweet intoxicating voice came from behind.
Once he came to face me, I glared up at his knowing grin. *Do you want me to slap you?*
He chuckled, shaking his head. *So you haven't taken your happy pills then?* He question jokingly by my grumpy mood. Selena stood back, against the locker again and in between us, simply observing the exchange of words and lost beyond words of her own.
*The pain isn't that bad.* I assured, looking down at my ankle and then back at him. *Where you going right now?*
*Already? Wow! The bell hasn't even rung to indicate the start of school.* I teased.
I smiled, *I thought we had already established that.*
Joe looked over at Selena. *Make sure she doesn't put any weight on it.* He pointed down to my injury. She nodded, looking over at me and then back at him as if she was watching some kind of freak show. *See you at lunch?*
I nodded. *Ok.* He smiled and leaned down. I leaned my head back, giving him easier access and meeting his lips. Softly he parted mine with his, kissing me attentively and chilling every bone in my body. Who needs happy pills when I have my boyfriend? After an added second, he pulled back, brushing his thumb over my tingling bottom lip. *I'll meet you after class.* I nodded, zoned. *To carry?* I nodded again with a bite of my lip. He leaned down, capturing my lips once more for another quick second and pulling back. I rested my head down and noticed a few looks our way, including my best friends. *Bye Selena.* Joe waved and walked off.
I turned to Selena with a wide smile to her surprised dropped mouth. *Was that Joe Jonas?* I nodded and began to walk forward slowly with her following behind and soon joining my side. *I thought you went camping with the guard dogs of hell?*
*I did.* I replied. *I love camping.*
*What the hell?* She gasped. *Did I miss something?*
I giggled at her confusion. *You missed a lot.* And so would have I if my sister hadn't been forced to tag me along. A trip to hell turned into a hell of trip! And I'd go through it all again in a heartbeat.
So, that's it. Like I said a few episodes back. There are a few loose ends here and there and I left it with an opening for a sequel. I'm not completely sure about doing a sequel to this, but let me know what you guys think. Should I?
I'll probably let you guys know by next week. I'm still posting Give My Heart a Break, so I'll be posting any news there.
Thank you for reading and liking this story. Tell me what you guys thought of this please. :D
