there is a slightly noticeable rise in the volume of the crowd noise just before the three second mark of this video. that is the moment the ball actually went over the center field fence. inside my satellite truck, a crew i worked with from a japanese media outlet watched the game via DirectTv. there is an obvious delay between reality, and the time it takes the signal to go up to the satellite, down to my dish, and decoded in the receiver, and i was able to get in my truck fast enough to see the "live" video of the ball leaving the yard, and catch the reaction of the crew. at the end of the video, you can hear the public address announcer saying, "First Baseman......Number 17....Todd Helton."
