Planes are so entrenched I highly doubt that Zeppelins will ever dislodge them from long-haul economy-class travel. But because they run on little to no fuel while carrying more cargo, planes are in serious trouble in the airfreight, tourism and private luxury markets. But beyond that, unless things get REALLY hairy with oil(unlikely, considering GM bacteria and enforced stability) planes are here to stay.

  • With Peak Oil and other major resource problems, I foresee the world of the airship possibly returning while planes fade...

  • Congratulations on winning the DARPA Pelican contract. I'm sure that having an actual functioning Aeroscraft flying will help attract people to the concept and lead to the construction of more ships... Even your ML86X, eh?
