Actually it was common practice in the past for EA to buy development companies and get ownership of their franchises, make them release a couple of rushed games and then close them.

R.I.P. Origin Systems, Westwood Studios, Bullfrog and Maxis.

What happen to this game and series still hurts. What EA did to Ultima X though started my dislike for them. Didn't help by what they did afterward. Wish someone would try to buy the IP from them.

Simply stated EA killed Ultima one of the most creative game worlds ever developed and when fans try and revive the franchise they kill there projects as well I wonder why I dont buy EA products anymore

EA Games completely ass-raped this franchise. After they took over Origin the product became complete shit. Bean counters cannot run software companies.
