They all run a little asthmatic on standard carbs with aftermarket pipes.I have an art on my one [see video] and i have a k and n filter in the air box.
Im running on NGK -j9a spark plugs but more modern are now available .I run on choke for about 60 seconds then no problems .

THis one actually had other problems. The 1st PO had already installed CV 36mm Flatslides with a jet kit running 124 Minuki mains. As mentioned before regapping the plugs, cleaned the carbs (2 pilot jets were plugged), and balanced the plugs the bike runs much better and actually idles nice. I have it partially apart at the moment. The Muzzy exhaust had ZERO packing and it is straight thru; very loud. I need to sort that out and then install some new needles. The last were corrodied and sanded.

Bike is running very poorly. This video if before, I set the spark plug gasp back to stock (PO had them at 0.045"), cleaned the carbs (two plugged pilot jets), set pilot air screws and balanced butter-fly valves.
Still needs some work but much better now.
