In my honest opinion it's better to use uncooked shrimp (peeled and devained of course.) You'll have total control over the cooking time, whereas if you use pre-cooked shrimp, you run the risk of over cooking them and getting rubbery shrimp.
If you DO choose to use pre-cooked...you only need to cook them for a few minutes.

@DeliverTheWord1 I believe it's peeled with the tail left on. However if you want you can just simply peel the whole shrimp.
