Safety Razor Challenge:Can a Safety Razor Shave off 5 Days of Beard Growth?

HOW TO PERFORM A 3 Pass Wet Shave with a Safety Razor, using a Rooney Large Badger Brush, and Taylor of Old Bond Sandalwood Shaving Cream From a Tub.
Steps involved in the Process are as follows:
A) Shower with Hot Water & Wash Beard with Soap/then conditioner.
B) Soak Badger Brush in Cup of Hot Water for 2 Minutes
C) Fill Sink with Hot Water
D) Apply shaving cream to Tips of Badger Brush
E) Apply Hot Water to Beard/Do Not Dry Off
F) Apply Shaving Cream to beard so that skin does not show through cream.
1) First Pass Straight Down With The Grain
2) Second Pass From Ear to Nose Across The Grain
3) From South to North / Upward Motion.
4) Rinse with Hot then Cold Water.
5) Apply Your Favorite After Shave Lotion or Cream/Preferably Alcohol Free.
6) You've Had a Great Shave, You'll Have a Great Day!!!

Thank you for posting your videos. After two decades shaving with commercial cartridges, I discovered shaving again with a DE razor. The difference is astounding. My razor is a 34 C HD and so far the results are great. I have been comparing different blades on my face (Merkur vs. Feather) and I've found that the Feather feels better on my face and results in less burn. I'm curious to know what blade you prefer and suggest.

34C is a workhorse of a safety razor. Time tested and up to the task.

I prefer the Astra and Feather blades as they suit me the best so far.

Ok. I appreciate you posting this video Geo. I guess you could say I'm new to the "shaving world." I'm ashamed to say I've been using a Gillette ProGlide for the past 7 mths coming from an automatic razor lol. I saw the Merkur HD in a business bag video and after watching your tutorial, I'm pretty sold on getting one. But tell me, what is the difference between Feather and Astra blades (or any other blades LOL!)? I honestly thought that "a blade is a blade" just as long as it's sharp. Thoughts?
