@dabears530 Accidents happen but knowing where crosslines are located and not coming in contact with them is a MAJOR priority of underground contractors.
If they were getting close to the water main, digging with the backhoe should stop and digging with shovels should begin.
Either that or get a spotter.

in that video ther is no spotter there just the operator run the backhoe which make that operator a dumb ass for not having a spotter , so that is negligence on the operators part which makes that operator a dumbass and not a good operator , so dont bull shit me with stupid shit like it old pipe or that transite pipe or that its miss marked . Have been an operater for a long time . so go talk your shit else where . your just a bullshitter

@justdiger1 You're the dumbass. It could have been negligence as you state, but you dont know if it was an old tin & cement main being held together by the ground around it. There's no way to get around those breaks. You also dont know if it was properly marked. His spotter could have misjudged his angles as well. So until you know all the details, keep your fuckin mouth shut. I'm an operator myself, and a damn good one. half the time it's not our fault. Fuckin keyboard warrior. Eat shit.
