I'm confused... is this how to use a rowing machine? No leg movement involved? Is this "rowing machine" US English for something else? Rowing machines in the UK simulate full body motion used in rowing on rivers.

It's not a proper rowing machine, though is it? More of a rowing weights equipment. The rowing machines involve sliding back and forward on a seat with legs strapped in. Would like to see a video on one of those, as naturally the technique is going to be different.
