Clown Town

Just a little demonstration of the MG-1 Concertmate, Realistic keyboard by Moog. Sorry the picture is a little out of focus. Apparently the range finder on my camcorder picked the closet large object to focus on, my belly! And my playing could leave a bit to be desired, but at least this is a demonstration of some of the nice tones this keyboard is capable of.

I don't know the full history of the keyboard, but I believe that sometime in the 1980's, Realistic contracted with Moog to create the keyboard. How much of the design is Realistic and how much is Moog is something that might be found on the Internet. In fact the Synthesizer Museum might be a good place to start.

I call this piece "Clown Town" because it is slightly carnival-like, and I imagine a town of people who walk around everyday, going about their daily lives dressed as clowns. I hope that it is amusing.

@childofthedamned that'd be great! What do you need? Would you prefer the video, or just the soundtrack. Also I have it in high definition, but seriously doubt that would make any real difference as it is so blurred anyway. The focus was on my belly (isn't it always, LOL)! And where should I set it up for you to download? There are a couple of places that let you do this. Any preference?

I think you need some manic laughing in the background, which would make it wicked, well done :D

Thank you! Yes I could do with a bit more practice, LOL! I believe that most would agree there. I'm not sure I have the time or patience, which might be a pity. But then I think of some of my music as the Impressionists thought of painting. It's not exactly what it is, but gives you an impression of what it is. As an amatuer I usually have a good idea of what I'm going for. Just I don't always use traditional techniques to acheive it. Thanks for commenting! Be well.

Yes it is! Although one might argue some of the finer points. This is NOT what most people hear or think about, when there are synthesizers listed on the album. But it is a version thereof, and interestingly enough, it is fully "polyphonic." Many synthesizers that you hear on albums are monophonic, meaning that only one key will sound at a time. With the MG-1 several keys (as you may hear at the end) will be expressed together, all at the same time, making possible chords.
