@ocrailfanner1995 I use 4 Lionel Powerhouse power supplies, which supply a constant 18 volts to the track. I don't use the kind of transformers with the knobs for adjusting power because those aren't necessary when using DCS and TMCC

@KingofTomedy what transformer do you have

@ocrailfanner1995 My first comment is now out-of-date. I did hook up a DC transformer to my TIU on my HO track for my MTH HO Union Pacific SD70ACE #1989. And everything works! Although the softkeys don't work, I might need to update the TIU and/or a new transformer to make the softkey functions work.

@KingofTomedy they do run for g scale thats what they were made to do but some people use the tiu for o scale
-
Yes, they will work. But you may want to get some in-line circuit breakers because the circuit breakers on the old ZW's might not be fast enough to prevent damage to the TIU during a short. But yes, they will work just fine.

I like the both for different reasons.

It may be a little off-topic, but will a TIU work for DC transformers if you want to run HO or G Scale trains? Or for AC transformers only?

I have no idea. Probably not.
