I've watched this 100 times. Looks like an early telecast or video tape, doesn't it? Love the audio.. like being in a time machine for 5-seconds. There has to be more of this. Notice Hub wiping his hands on his pants after he delivered the pitch. Did he load up?

That is a stupid comment.."he had a yankees uniform on,".............looks to me like he was a member of the Boston Braves.....'course I am only 53 years old.....what the hell do I know......

This video is 6 seconds of nothing. But I can't stop watching it, for it really has a lot you can see when you are a fan like me. And if you are a real fan, you know what sorts of things I am referring to that make this a compelling video. This is a very provocative piece of film for a fan like me. Thanks for posting.

Im related to carl hubbell

looked like a slider, they definitely threw hard back in the day, and no helmets

ruth's first 5 years were as a pitcher with the bosox.He only got to hit every 4th game and yet he still had 714 career hr's.
-
look how close the shortstop is playing to secondbase, if Ruth had hit a hard ball up the middle it would have ate him for lunch.
-
worst player ever
-
Ruth was vicious at the plate

@RUKidding05, @guitimon -- so guitymon was right, it's dubbed sound -- good enough to fool me, though. RU, if you have more of this I'd love to see it! Great quality for 1935.
This was opening day 1935...Ruth took Hubbell deep earlier in the game and was 2 for 2 against him at this point...probably part of the brushback. Braves Field in Boston had movie camera's located next to each on deck circle, so that is where this footage is likely from. There is fantastic shots of the 1948 World Series from these angles. There was probably footage from the '20's onward taken from those camera's that is now lost. Little still survives. It would be incredible to find it.

@lollar Yes there must be a ton of footage of games that is lost. It is so rare to see an angle like this or angles from the outfield.

Hey, one more thing: You notice Babe spitting after the pitch goes by? Ah, man, that's baseball!

@RUKidding05 ..so, do you have any more of this? Where did you find this footage? Is the audio dubbed as guitymon says? It really does feel like you're right in the on-deck circle, doesn't it?

@oddsox1919
The sound is dubbed from some crowd noise I have. It lines up pretty good. I have a bunch of Babe Ruth videos. I can't recaqll off the top of my head which one it is from. Let me check.
