@ramram21 okay.... Normally i wouldn't comment on posts, but this is kinda ridiculous. I am from holland, and it is very sad that you believe that dutchmen are like this. You should probably got to the Netherlands sometime and go to a wedding, and see how people behave there. Also, dutchmen aren't more fond of fish then any other country in the world.

@vrieskip - only the last chorus is familiar, I think the voice we hear is Wim Sonneveld.

@adiah And you never been a kid ? I think every "Nederlander" knows this song because they teach you this at school.

It was a joke :P
Dutch people are very fond of fish and singing children's songs. That's why he combines them. In Holland this is quite common and you can often see this sort of fish-singing at weddings and funerals. When there are two fishsingers at the same party there's always the risk of a fishfight, where these big fish are used to slap each other in the face, while the crowd cheers and applauds. What's unusual here is that he uses a dead fish; normally they're still alive. Probably smells very fishy. Bah!

Translation:
I prefer singing in Dutch you know, after all, we live here, so it would make no sense talking French and English to people. In a restaurant, it's something else though. A good menu must be in French, as it tastes better that way. If you read "breast of veal" in dutch on a menu, you think, meh... But when it says Buste de Voeux, you take it.
*Some silly song about walking past rivers and shit like that*
