no one in this band died. they just disbanded. Loma Prieta used to be some of the members, but Derrick is no longer in Loma Prieta. same drummer though.

Sailboats is a great band, however post-hardcore is Horse the Band, Sailboats is pure screamo.

"Sailboats was a band from Berkeley. In 2003 they recorded a 2-song demo and played several shows throughout California. Unfortunately, they were involved in a fatal crash, in which 2/3 members did not survive, while on their first tour in 2004."

I didn't know that at all. That totally fucking kills me. I never took the time to read that off of the myspace when i found it a while back, I guess i was just so amped to have found their myspace. I think I even e-mailed the guy about.

Don't worry, apparently that story on their myspace isn't true. Although I don't know what the motivation behind writing it was.
BTW... I recognize you from attending shows in NJ. Welcome Home is great stuff. And I know you were in another band right before that which I've seen, but i can't recall the name.
And you're right, Sailboats are completely incredible. Also, apparently they only had two songs and the other two really short ones were not them.
