Ro Hai is a traditional Korean Tang Soo Do form with a board break in the middle of the form. Here it's performed by David Clark testing for his 6th Degree Black Belt with the Western Tang Soo Do Federation on Nov 2, 2009. The break consists of three bricks.

  • Thank you for your comments. This was towards the end of the test, and I wasn't thrilled with the form, but I was pretty happy about the break. I studied with Mr. Douglas for close to 20 years before his passing. It's been about five years now, and we definitely miss him.

  • I must admit that I was so focused on the break that the rest of the form suffered. We're required to do all of our forms for 6th Dan. I wanted to do something a little different, so I brought the bricks in for Ro Hai.

  • Ignore that one guy’s critiques. For months he’s been criticizing other TSD stylists’ forms performances, yet he doesn’t post any of himself doing forms.

Anyway, people have to realize that this was part of a testing, so you obviously had to do several forms beforehand plus your break. I believe your org. was headed by the late Dick Douglas, a Chuck Norris black belt.

My instructor was also a Norris black belt. so more than likely you had to do at least 21 trad. forms, plus any org. forms also

  • @Kinghercules I thought it was a requirement for 3rd dan

  • The brake was good but the form was sloppy.

And why are you doing this form for your 6th dan?

Is it actually a requirement for 6th dan?
