Weeds in the Winter?! Oh Yes! Weeds come in 3 growing types; perennial, biennial and annual (summer annual and winter annual). It's January and I am hunting Winter Annual Weeds! In particular, the hairy bittercress. A winter annual weed seed germinates in the fall, grows during the fall, winter and spring and sends out flowers that produce more seeds. The never ending cycle. (If only our vegetables were that easy to grow, right?)
It is to your advantage to remove the weed before it has a chance to go to seed. Get out there even if it is 30 degrees! Yeah, get off the couch and go WEED HUNTING!
