I hope we all realize that "ranking" filmmakers is amazingly arbitrary and meaningless. I mean, I love me some foreign films. Giving them ranks seems awfully pretentious.

I could say Bergman and Fellini are in the same "rank" as Kurosawa.

Kubrick and Hitchcock are overrated.
