The Shoshone did not abuse these horses. Mary and Carrie Dann provided well for these animals, and they were happy in their homes. Then the BLM removed them. A white man, Slick Gardner, abused these horses.

The Shoshone are well known for their abuse of wild horses. They have even been involved in selling them to slaughter. No surprise here.
