Practical advice on how to avoid foot pain from inline skating a.k.a. rollerblading. In short, don't be lazy, open the boot tongue all the way to avoid 'jamming' your arch.

  • my wheels are wearing to one side is the normal or am i skating wrong?

  • @bflet006 You are most likely pronating which means you are not skating on your center seam. That is fixed by investing time in retraining yourself in technique. For instance did you know most skaters push off their toe. WRONG. You drive off your heel. Very important. Another cause is natural wear. Rotate the wheels! LOL Not a big deal.

  • I have had my inline speed skates for about a year now and they are pretty much molded to my foot, but they still hurt my feet really bad. I would really love to be able to stay on the floor much longer than I do, which I can if my feet didn't hurt so bad. Is there anything I can do?

  • @AceyAlighieri Heat mold again and again until you get it right. I had to heat mold four times. Each time turning up the heat in the oven just a bit more to get my boot body to mold. Remember to keep the back plane higher with the heels on a magazine or thin book. I work thick sox for molding not thin ones. That was a big help. But it took many attempts. Until them I had continued to get blisters from hot spots. No more.

  • I bought a pair of aggressive skates and have huge blisters on the inside part of my foot, between the ankle and arch. Is there something I can do about this, or do I just have to wait until calluses form?

  • @o0thisismyusername0o BodyGlide works. On LONG skates I resort to bodyglide. It is a great help. It's a wax for your skin that applies like a stick of deodorant. If you apply moleskin. Cut a center circle. Don't cover the blister with the moleskin, but rather the surrounding area. However I take a whole damn sheet on super long marathon skate days and apply the entire sheet to an area I know may develop a hot spot. The reality is your skates don't fit right. That is the cause.

  • Thanks for the tips you have given. So glad I read this before buying myself some new blades because I would've gone & bought another pair of the same types of skates that I always used when I used to skate. At least now I know how to alleviate the pain I used to endure on my left arch especially on top while inlining & ice skatings.

  • Dangerman, can you recommend good hockey type skate. I tried Tour skates that are similar to regular hockey boots but find them painfull. K2s soft boot does not allow for hard crossovers so I need something in between.

  • This helped me so much because I'm trying to be pro and i have a long way to go hey that ryhmes okay back to the subject and now i can skate so much better and I'm suprised that people dont leave bad comments because just about every video has bad comments its probebly because ur video is 100% awesome

  • thanks, i can skate way better now.

  • @SgtStutter18 Cado Modus. This set runs about $900. You want to contact Kim at TheSkateNowShop. com She will dedicate as much time to discussing skates with you as you need. FYI, these are heat moldable pro grade skates with 110mm wheels. Unless you are a power skater, make sure you know what type of skater you are before investing a lot of money in high end skates. ;-)

  • @lepsulet If we are talking about speed skates, they get very small in every facet. The boot, the tongue and eyelets give you no room for error in fit. The fact is some speed skate boots just don't work for everyone. People buy and sell new boots all the time for this reason. I've personally heat molded my Cado Modus's 4 times before I got a good fit. Only then did I avoid 'hot spots'. It appears your eyelets are digging into your skin. I use donut shaped corn pads to resolve hot spots.

  • hey i love you skates, could u tell me where you got them or at least what kind they are????
