Sweden's success in foreign wars at this time was due in no small part to stability at home. There was no religious divide as elsewhere on the continent, and the realm was so ably administered by Axel Oxenstierna. Interesting stuff though, thank you.

Gustavus Adolphus was a military genius who bothered little about the shortcomings of his colleagues.
Yes, he was murderous and extremely brutal, but so was the world surrounding him.
He did what he felt he had to do. Others made the mistake of challenging him.

@00JakeR00 The actual innovations were regimental artillery, brigade as a battlefield unit, muskets mixed with cavalry and salvo fire (I wouldn't count aggresive charges as a innovation, since it was based on a cavalry tactics already used by the Polish, and the idead of using charges instead of caracole wasn't new).

@RogueRaven17 Don't worry. No one would argue with a silly ignorant fanboy that lacks objectivity.

@Norrahammarbyhamnen Leading from the front was a relic of medvieval times. It wasn't too clever thing to do and it ultimately go him killed and because of this his whole campaign lost direction.

@earp1232 Russia invaded Sweden, along with Poland and Denmark to help them, and still we were close to victory.

@CU2UK Hahaha xD I Agree
One of the Greatest kings ever, he was a Mozart of the battlefield. Or atleast I think that.
