Push Pull Animation

An animation I made at Ringling College in my junior year. We had to design a character and make him push and/or pull something. Took me two months to do.

This is Marco. He's a lizard/dragon/dinosaur thing. C: Even he's not sure what he is, actually. So he's probably gonna go on a quest to find out. Or something. And he likes shiny things.

Everything was done in Maya, except the textures. Those were painted in Photoshop. Credit to cgtextures for the wood texture on the chest.

spiritpup if you dont mind sharing i would really liek to know how old you where when you first got into 3d and how old you where when you made this animation.

im wondering because when i was 14 i used 3dsmax for awhile and got quite good. and now im 16 and wondering if i should start again.

@LoriannZWeaver Well I first got into 3D a little over a year ago (I was 19), and this animation was made over a period of two months. I finished it in November of 2010. But I started with traditional animation about 6 years ago.

It's awesome. But I noticed, the chest seems to twitch/open a little before the character actually touches it with the stick.

Very good. The only thing I see a bit bad is when he goes from the chest to the stick. The movement is too quick and a little stuttery, like there's frames missing.
