  • Thanks for making these videos Fubar. 5 stars for you!

Regarding the MC4 connectors...did you end up cutting off the MC4 connector ends and connecting your 10AWG from each of those connections? How did you make the MC4 cable to 10AWG connection? Did you make small junction boxes with small buss bars for each of those connections or did you use a twist nut connector and pull the wires through your pipe and then to the junction box? My panels have MC4 cables that are just 3 ft long.

  • @BigBearHuskyMusher Hi, Yes, I just cut of the connectors off on the panels and tied in enough wire to get to my junction box. I just used wire nuts and a good amout of electrical tape to tie them togeather. Then I ran it to the buss bars in the junction box on top of the roof, near the solar panels. Then I ran the wire inside the conduit to the inside of house to a breaker disconnect box and from there to the charge controller. I do have some other vids on the installation. Good luck.

  • You seriously have the coolest setup I've seen! What watts are each of those panels? Also do you have them connected in series or parallel ?

  • @dalamar437 Well thanks for the kind comment. They are 100w panels and I have 2 sets of 2 wired Parallel and then to the 2 parallel sets ( 4 panels ) wired in series. I did this to keep my amps down so that I can run another set of 4 panels in the near furture.I have a couple of freinds on youtube that you might want to check out there videos on there setups. They have some really nice setups and videos. there channels are ECONEWPOWER and OBXSOLWIND. I hope this helps.

  • How has the Unistrut worked out? Is it expensive? an where the best place to get it? Those commercial racking materials seem way to expensive. I may make my own mounts like OBX.

  • @FUBARPROTOCOL I am prepping Carey, that's what I'm doing right now. We're pouring some pads for a barn and a greenhouse, we'll have a new chicken coop soon (tore the old one down) and will fence the property for the goats. After all that is done I will begin to store some food. We have our own well, our own power, heritage seeds to plant a couple of acres if need be, plenty of pasture for the animal hay, etc. I live in SouthEast Texas, about 30 miles inland from the Gulf.

  • @econewpower Thanks Al. Iam trying to get it all togeather. Do you have food storage for bad times? I hope so. You seam likea really nice guy and the wourld needs a lot more like you. Start prepping buddy.

  • @OBXSOLWIND OBXSOLWIND Thanks Kevin, You and econnewpower have inspired me! Iam trying to do a good job, I dont like a sloppy looking job and I see that you put in the extra effort to make it look good allso. The way I look at it is if your going to spend the time and money on something you should spend a little extra time to make it look good. I wish I would have done a litte more research before I started, but I think It will all work out.
