It's time to start up a conversation ! Use these greetings as much as you can. Practice these words with family and friends ,and even strangers..well maybe not strangers...I hear alot of people are using tasers instead of pepper spray nowadays , hehe :O

  • @dragonballz0 ah okay thanks alot :)

  • @CatwomanJolie Hi, I've never heard "sumimasen ga densha no eki wa doko..." where ga comes before wa. In school, and afterschool clubs, they teach us the uses of wa and ga...

"wa" always comes first when "ga" is used in the same sentence. Its never used the other way around. Can you please confirm and tell us the source? domo arigatou gozaimasu. :)

  • @The1bleachfan you can pronounce anyway you wish, just make sure a native Japanese person you speak to can understand what you say.

Used dramas (not anime) as reference to hear how some words are pronounced and mostly books. Go beyond what you're used to and listen to others pronounce words. Which ever pattern is used the most, chances are that way is correct over the others. :)

  • @ummPOTATOZ google is not 100% correct. I've tried using it and it sucks 40% of the time. :( Iuse 2 reputable books for references.

How to tell one is reputable? How long have they been running, popularity and most importantly, the edition you're picking up has been printed within the last 3-6 years max. :)

  • @benarroch15 sumimasen is both excuse me and sorry (depends on the sentence), but for less confusion to to a beginner, for now, use it as excuse me like:

-If you bump into someone or if you want to excuse yourself or if you made a small mistake kind of situation).

    gomenasai is I'm sorry. :)

  • @MsAnimelover4life konnichiwa means both Hello/Hi and good afternoon, when used to greet someone, only. There is an actual word for afternoon, but it is not used for greeting, but for food. :)

  • You do a great job of explaining everything. Thanks for posting this!

  • Excuse me but I used google translate to find out how to write "Be yourself, because everyone else is taken." and it said 誰もがすでに使用されているあなた自身である. is that right?
