Caplin Rous: Encounter with Philip

Caplin's Blog: www.GiantHamster.com Caplin Rous has hated Philip since Philip stomped his feet at him when Caplin was four months old. In this video Philip finally makes a reasonable attempt to move past this by feeding Caplin treats and remaining seated. The barrier removes some of the tension on both sides. Near the end of the video Caplin does huff and click at Philip but this is a big improvement from his previous reactions to him

is that healthy for him to eat that many popsicles? i thought rodents (except for rats) had very sensitive digestive systems. my chinchillas can only have like 1-2 raisins a day.

He seems to have a pretty robust digestive system, as long as he gets enough roughage. Weighing 100 lbs helps too. And popsicles don't really have much to them except frozen water and a bit of sugar.

Animals have a natural sense for a threat to them.. and this Phillip guy is scared and threatened by the animal. He is not a capybara lover. If he liked the animal and was in tuned w/the animal needs, he would be more willing, and would have peeled the banana for the sweet Caplin. Caplin is an innocent animal, and that guy Phillip needs to go or take some courses in animal behaviors and sensitivity. In the video w/Phillip & the gun, the gun gives the human power, and the animal is no dummy!

yep, I don't care if "Philip" is your friend... I can spot a creep a mile away. He'd DEF be a jerk to this animal while no ones around...

I have to say that the guy Philip seems to be quite an ass. He is subtely provoking the animal and just giving off a creepy vibe. Looks to have a dominance issue with the capybara. I'd keep your animal away from him if I was you. Looks like the kind of guy who'd give him a good kick when you're not watching.
