i love Richie but I have to admit that listening to him talk about guitars it sounds like he has very little knowledge about the technicals about guitars. He kept talking about a guitar that keeps its tune.
I agree. I have been spending a lot of time (and money)on gear lately and as a reference I have listened to the actual sounds of a lot of guitarists. Although Richie is one of my favourite guitarists, I found out that I actually find his sound very "not special" Not bad of course, but it obviously isn't something he really works on. guitarists that do are: scott Henderson, petrucci, brad paisley. Their sounds really stand out. It doesn't make him a bad guitarist, he's just not "into" that.
