A WW2German Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) assault gun used in battle on the Russian front. This Stug would have become bogged while manoeuvring in battle and abandoned with the Russian troops advancing.
The white paint work would suggest that it was bogged during the winter campaign.

  • The bogs preserve things with their tanic acids, like they do bodies.

    Amazing condition!

  • German engineering genius at its finest :) Even after 70 years in the harshest of conditions, its still rolling strong. Beautiful!

  • Amazing. STuff like this all over that country.

  • Einmal kurz abgespritzt frisches Öl rein und er läuft.......der gute alte Maybach

  • The mud kept of oxygen out etc, basically preserves the tank.

  • I can't believe they got the tracks moving.

  • Wow the tracks even move

  • A little Marvel Mystery Oil, and she'll turn right over.

  • That's amazing. About 20 years ago I talked about pulling tanks from the bogs in Russia. It's a gold mine of ww2 relics. The mud preserves them.

  • WOW there is a shell hole in the armour.
