@gcmc2 I agree with you 100%, I personally am a HUGE sport sedan fans. It is really common for people to see a v8 supercar qualifying lap time on a supersoft tyre on a rubbered up track, to assume that this is a consistent pace. V8 supercar are still very fast cars, and ofcourse they have no mechanical relation to their road car cousins, but i still do not think they could be classed as purpose built cars.. live axle, lock diff etc. That COTF will be, but then again. thats a sport sedan -.-

He definately is concentrating hard! Has to be said when hes tearing tires to shreds on Top Gear he can look quite ham-fisted at the wheel, but Clarkson has done alot of invitation races and does know how to drive a car in a race on a track when he wants to....one of the best Top Gears ever is when they enter the Britcar 24 hour race at Silverstone in a BMW 330d. Epic!!

@fpvshitsonhsv You've been misinformed about V8 supercars. The porsches are almost as quick as the supercars. Their times also don't drop off as much as the laps go on so the porsches might give them a fright in longer races. Sports sedans & go karts are faster on many tracks, Power delivery is actually not good in a V8 supercar. That is their biggest drawback in fact. They have small tyres for their size & weight & require very subtle throttle control to avoid tyre destruction.

Yes they are hard to drive just like most race cars are but when you perfect the style they rape just about anything on the track. The way the power is delivered to the track in these things is amazing. If you ever come to Aus be sure to go and buy a ticket rather then watch on TV ,they truly are amazing cars. Just for the note we have porch 911 cup too but is the small event before the suppercar event ,they are no where near as fast as these

@OgamiItto70 Could be worse, could've knocked down a gear instead of up, not sure if the Supercars have a rev check in place to prevent over revving on downshift.
