Famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil (also known as Puxatony Phil) did not see his shadow on Groundhog Day in 2010. Because Punxsutawney Phil http://www.sodahead.com/united-states/puxatony-phil-didnt-see-shadow-winter-e... did not see his shadow, winter is believed to soon be over. Groundhogs Day is based around the myth that if a groundhog does not see its shadow on February 2nd, then winter will soon be over -- if a groundhog like Puxatawny does see its shadow, then winter will last another six weeks.
