bowe is very under-rated. Boxing needs to give this guy more credits. He's only 40-1-1
-
bowe had a lot of talent he was just lazy but when motivated he was a beast

@noirnoticvibe Yes he was and it was sad to see him take so much punishment against Golota. His corner should have stopped the second fight. Rock Neuman didn't care about Bowe, all he cared about was the money, the second Golota fight proved that. Bowe won the battle, but lost the war. My god he took a savage beating against Golota in the second fight. Add in all the fowling by Golota. After the second fight, Golota should have been suspended for such blatant fouling.

Bowe should have been the greatest HW ever, just very lazy and undisciplined.
I saw him in person (in court actually) between the 2nd and 3rd Holyfield fights and he must have weighed 280 lbs.

For anyone referencing anything that happened between Bowe and Morrison as amateurs, remember that Henry Tillman beat Mike Tyson twice as amateurs. How'd that combination work out in the pros? Just curious. I always forget.

Washed up Bowe? He was 29, and I don't believe that the Holyfield Trilogy made him "washed up". If anything it was Evander who took the severe punishment in those fights - and look what he did afterward (beat Tyson twice, and held championship belts for 3 more years) Everyone knows that Bowe didn't like to train, and had weight problems. That's what made him look "washed up". He could have been one of the greats, but his lack of discipline was his downfall.

I never said he was the greatest.

I think most people see that 40-1-1 as as 38-3-1. Golota beat him soundly in the 1st fight and the 2nd fight was a massacre. If he wasn't perhaps the dumbest/dirtiest fighter of our era he he wins both of those fights. Bowe was totally gassed both times and there was no chance for him to win. Not only that, but the fact that he never fought Lewis. Throwing his belt in the garbage for Lennox to pick up was widely seen by many as fear. He's not an alltime great IMHO.
Bowe would kill Tommy in a real fight. Tommmy had no chin at all. Eddie Futch didn't even work with Bowe during the Olympics Lou Duva did so your lying. Bowe hit harder and faster than Ray Mercer

I like both fighters alot but I think Tommy was too powerful for Bowe, and everbody basing Morrisons career on 1 fight with Mercer need to look past that. Any fighter the expells that many power shots is vonurable but I dont think that means he had no chin. If Bowe took the shots Morrison gave Mercer during those 3 rounds no way would Bowe survive.

It might have been after the olympics or maybe somebody had the trainers name wrong but they did sparr together and Bowe did quit.

Young Morrison would've kill this version of Riddick. Morrison did sparr with bowe in 1988 for the olympic sparring. They were suppost to go 3 rounds, and they end up going 2 because Morrison was beating the hell out of bowe with the left hook. Eddie Futch was on Bowes ass that night

I also heard about that sparring session with Bowe quitting. Ive also read how Bowes camp made an effort to avoid Morrison.
