Us Pinoys commonly speak tagalog since it became the national language, but in truth, we have hundreds of other dialects and a lot of them sound like their own separate language, like for example: Try comparing Kapampangan with Tagalog. We also had our own writing system too, but even Kapampangans had their own very separate, but similar-in-characters writing system, that used the vertical writing instead of horizontal :P other dialects also probably had their own too.

Hey Im currently learning Mandarin, for same reason you did. But now I also want to learn Japanese. Can you tell me how different the dialect is or how hard is it to learn both at the same time? Should I learn one first? How long did it take you?

Your passion for language is inspirational. It changes your perspective completely e.g. how you see colours shapes and how you respond to situations. The more languages you master the wider your perspective. Respect!

I think Asian languages are beautiful. Especially Japanese and Korean. I think they are soft, clear and beautiful sounding languages^^ I love their writting systems also, looks beautiful^^
