A video tutorial of how to install the Powder River Precision Match Target Easy Fit Trigger Kit along with the Zero Take Up Trigger Safety.
This upgrade was done on a Springfield XD 9mm Service (4") model. The trigger is short and crisp, and reset is about 1/8 (half of what it was). Very pleased.
The light/laser is a Streamlight TLR-2 I bought from Optics Planet.

  • thanks for posting the vids,i just orderd this kit from powder precision thanks to you! also, how long does the wax usually stay on there for?

  • Sounds great! I waxed mine several months ago and it's still good, just a few small sports are starting to wear. I'm pleased that it did good all through deer season.

  • Did your XD come with the lettering so defined like that? Mine is a solid black gun. I really like how the emblem and lettering stand out. Did you take the finish off on the stamps or what?

    Thanks, love the video,

    AO

  • Thanks for the comment.

No, it didn't come like that, I did the letter coloring myself. The easiest way I know to do it is to melt a white crayon (...yeah I know) into the lettering. Do a search on youtube and you'll see what I'm talking about. The only thing is that it's not real durable and the crayon can come off after time, but it's an easy fix to reapply the crayon. You could also use paint, but that would be harder to do and more messy.

  • Just wanted to echo what several other posters have already said. Great job on this video.

    - Clear, concise instructions.

    - Well illuminated so even the small parts showed up well (even when in filming inside the gun.

    - Well edited so no "fluff", just solid, usable details.

    - You even provided links to the parts!

Well done sir! I haven't watched part 2 yet, so forgive me if you have already answered this. How much of an improvement did these changes make on the trigger pull?

  • Thanks for the kind words. I can't say enough how much the improvement was on my XD. The trigger travel, reset and lbs was cut nearly in half and no over-travel after sear has released. Over-all AWESOME upgrade! I had a hard time justifying the cost, but now that it's all said and done I'm glad I did it.

  • To those who wish to use their XD (or any pistol) as a duty weapon, many states and departments would consider this a "modification" and thus ban it from carrying as a duty weapon. Here in NC the state's Private Protective Security Board (they regulate ALL private security) would not allow this on a duty weapon for an armed security guard. Just an FYI. But to be honest, I find the trigger on my XDm 9 to be excellent.

  • @excelerater looking at your comment makes me wonder if you have a brain at all

  • i have that TLR-2 on a XD 45acp service. love that thing. good video, too. i was planning on doing a PRP kit for my next birthday. very informative.

  • I appreciate you posting this video, and it seems to be more informative compared to Springer Precsion's. I just ordered the Match PRP kit for my XDM 9mm, and I wonder that if I follow your video, if Ill be able to install the kit on my XDM. Do you or anybody you know have any experience or insight on how to install this kit on the XDM. Thanks for your help.

  • Thanks!!! I could not have installed the kit myself without this video. Excellent instructions!!!!

  • @excelerater

How about shooting/researching before you make any judgement on its durability? They've gone through the same torture test as the AK-47 and Glock and have passed with flying colors.

  • Really an excellent video. Great job.
