She never really sets after she pulls, so all of her weight is still going back when he makes contact. She got lucky that he hit it at her because if he had gone short line, she wouldn't have had a chance.

Thanks for the comment - the actually training session was about reading the location of the set and the tendency of the hitter - with an inside set that is off the net, the tendency of this hitter is either to hit middle or do a deep line shot - to go short, back toward the line would be a fantastic shot and one that against this hitter you need to be willing to give up so you can take away the 'more regularly occurring' deep line shot. Thanks - there's a reason professional baseball players play catch everyday, and still make throwing and catching errors in a game - it's REALLY easy to forget about the obvious!
