Hero-ch.9 "What a jerk-off."

All was well until Nick took off his shirt....

(Selena's p.o.v)

I always knew Nick Jonas was hot. Obviously, all the girls were all over him. I knew that he had a face to die for. He had biceps that were unbelievably large. But...once Nick took off his shirt to show off his hot, sweaty abs....it was mind blowing. My jaw dropped.
"Holy...crap." was all i could say, and i tried not to look...but i just couldnt get over it. He noticed me watching him and i saw him laugh.
"Whats so funny over there, Jonas?" i tried taking my mind off his incredible, god-like body. All he did was smile radiantly.
"The fact that you're watching me and not the game, Gomez!" he smirked as he shot a three-pointer. I rolled my eyes, pretending as if that wasnt true. Suddenly, the doorbell rang, and i quickly ran over.
"Demi!" i yelled as i pulled her in here.
"Im so so sorry! I dont know how Nick got your address! I came over as quickly as possible! He's here, isnt he?" she jumbled all her words into one.
"Yeah, he's here alright." i sighed. "But im just glad you're here." i smiled and walked over to the kitchen.
"So...where is he?" she asked.
"Outside with Joe playing basketball..." i explained. "...but i dont care." i lied.
20 MINUTES LATER.
"He shoots...HE SCORES!" Joe yelled as Nick made another 3 pointer.
"Geez, man. You're good. No...you're more than good. You're great!" he complimented. All Nick did was smile.

"Ugh, just look at him..he disgusts me!" i said angrily as i glared at the two from the window. I was braiding Demi's hair as she watched TV. But of course..i was too caught up in Nick and Joe's conversation.
"What?" she asked blankly. I pulled her hair fiercefully.
"They're getting along! He's doing it on purpose im telling you! He's trying to annoy the hell out of me!" i pulled on her hair once more.
"Ow! Geez, take your anger out on someone else!" she said.
"Sorry..." i apologized.
Suddenly, Joe came back inside all sweaty and smelly. Nick was still shooting hoops.
"Hey Sel, ask Nick if he wants to have lunch with us." Joe said as he wiped his sweat with a towel.
"What?!" i snapped.
"Selena...be nice." he demanded. I sighed and slowly walked outside. I watched Nick as he kept dribbling the ball and made once again, another 3-pointer.
"Hey hotshot...lunch is ready." I crossed my arms as i entered the mini court. He smirked as he walked over to me with no shirt. Shit.
I tried as hard as possible to not look down there.
"Hey cheerleader, why dont you show me a cheer?" he smirked even wider. I rolled my eyes.
"Hey, i was just joking. Dont be such a party pooper." he said. I sighed and just walked back inside, trying to hold a small smile. I felt him stare at me as i walked back in.

After lunch, Demi started talking to Joe. They got into some sort of conversation at the table. I decided to get some air as the sun setted. as i heard footsteps from behind me..i knew it was Nick somehow. But he didnt talk. All he did was sit next to me on the grass as i looked at the sunset.
"What could you possibly want now, Jonas?" i broke the silence for a moment.
"Look...i dont mean to make you so annoyed with me." he admitted. His voice was serious. I was surprised it was. I waited for him to go on.
"...do you wanna know the real reason why i came here?" he asked all of a sudden. I looked at him.
"What?" i asked curiously.
"I wanted to make sure you were okay." our eyes stuck together like magnet as i saw the golden texture in his eyes.
"..r-really?" i stuttered. A small smile painted on his sincere face.
"Yeah..."

i felt dumb. No. I felt more than dumb. I felt like a complete idiot. Thinking that he was here just to annoy me....he was making sure i was okay. Taylor never did that.
"What was it about?" Nick interrupted my thoughts afte i began quiet. I sighed, controversal on whether i should tell him or not.
"....it was about my ex." i finally had the guts to say. He just looked at me, wanting me to tell more.
Thinking about the right words to say, i soon started to have tears in my eyes.
(Nick's p.o.v)
I waited for her to explain what happened.
"He cheated on me..." she began. "I caught him cheating on me on Valentine's Day." she took a deep breath. "he was making out with my bestfriend." tears ran down her eyes.
I couldnt believe it. How could a guy cheat on her? On Selena?
"What a jerk-off." i commented. She tried not to laugh. It was quiet again
"Im so stupid!" she blurted, probably remembering what happened again.
"Selena..you're not stupid." i stated. "You're smart..and bright. And im not just saying that." i explained as the light from the sun hit her face.

....that night, she cried on my shoulder...and i was there to comfort her. Not her exboyfriend, Demi, or even her brother. I was there to make her feel better and it was probably the best feeling ive had in a long time
