This skating rink looks huge, the one i'm opening want be as big because the population in Jackson,MS is not near as big as the BIG D. But it'll still be just as nice!!! Wish me luck!!!

I agree it was really weak. I hope this is not what is considered good at northland now. Back in the late 70's thru the mid 80's we would have made them look like new born infants. Best rinks to go to then were rollerama/bonaventure/.northla­nd/rolladium/wheels in windsor safari to

is this at Northland on 8 Mile in Detroit? i haven't been in there since i was 6ish, but i remember skating there since i was 2 or 3, then i skated at Rollerdrome, Bonaventure, Riverside, Skate World of Troy, Great Skate, Ann Arbor Skate Company, Rollerama, Rolladium, the rink on Alter Road & even a rink in Bay City a few times. i still skate & it's always gonna be my first love! thanks for sharing! ;)

@PatsBooks I was saying this in a complimentary way. ALL of the skating rinks have closed down where I live. Most of the kids that frequented the skating rinks and when you walked inside, NO ONE was skating. It was just a place where kids met to fight and participate in gang activity. The violence had gotten so bad at the rinks, that the city had to close them down. In the city where I live, no kids play basketball, skate, jump rope, or ANY kind of recreation anymore. It is so Sadddddddd!

I love watching this! I used to skate EXACTLY like this 27years ago. Growing up, I used to skate to school and skate at rinks on the weekend. I used to skate backwards, do flips, and figure 8 through the orange cones. I'm just wondering can I still skate. I am 39years old and I haven't been in a rink or on skates in years. In the south, kids don't skate anymore. They just smoke weed, pop pills, and drink Hennessy all of the time. It's good to see young people doing something positive.
